The Adult and Community Learning department at South Thames College are currently seeking skilled and experienced professionals to teach adult learners on accredited courses in Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 1 and level 2 (Teaching Assistant).

You’ll deliver varied and effective teaching and learning sessions, including using virtual delivery if required in which all members of the group are respected and able to participate. You’ll prepare course plan(s) in accordance with any external or College set syllabuses and deliver the agreed learning outcomes by the end of the course.

We would like you to hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards) with substantial relevant professional experience and a sound knowledge of the subject with a successful record of delivering qualifications. With an assessor qualification (or willing to work towards), you’ll have recent experience of assessing students on qualification courses up to at least Level 2 as well as experience of liaising with external verifiers from a variety of awarding bodies.

You’ll be able to plan lessons and use a range of techniques appropriate to learners from diverse educational backgrounds (including adult learners) and be able to identify and implement improvements in existing systems and deliver virtual sessions if required. With high computer literacy (MS office, online tracking systems, registration process), you’ll be a strong communicator, able to communicate effectively at all levels and able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines, using initiative.
