Are you a qualified educator with a passion for empowering students in their academic journey? We are looking for an outstanding Core Subject Tutor to deliver personalised, high-quality tuition in Maths, English, or Functional Skills (Levels 1-3) to learners in Islington.
Sessions will be conducted at the student’s home or another agreed location, with flexibility to choose morning, afternoon, or evening sessions. This temporary, part-time role offers hours ranging from 1 to 30 per week, allowing you to design a schedule that fits your lifestyle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, individualised lessons in Maths, English, or Functional Skills (Levels 1-3).
- Assess students’ strengths and areas for development, tailoring lessons to meet their unique needs.
- Monitor and report on student progress to parents, carers, or educational stakeholders.
- Foster a supportive, motivating learning environment that inspires confidence and achievement.
- Utilise innovative teaching techniques to engage students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A PGCE in a core subject (Maths, English, or related fields) or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- A minimum of 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in the UK.
- The right to work in the UK.
- A current enhanced DBS check or willingness to undertake one.
Desired Qualities:
- Experience teaching or supporting Functional Skills (Levels 1-3).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with students and families.
- Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for education.
