Salary: £22,620 – £23,679

Working Hours: 5-days Full-time over 36.25 hours (opportunity for flexibility on working hours to be reduced slightly and/or reduce to 4 days should you desire. This option can be discussed further at interview)

Location: Altrincham Campus (although requirements across the Group may require cover at other sites)

Trafford & Stockport College Group (TSCG) has an opportunity for a capable Purchase Ledger Officer to join our Finance team to help us achieve our vision of unlocking potential and fostering success.

The Role:

To process accurate purchase ledger records and to provide financial administrative support to the Financial Services team, ensuring timely, quality financial information is provided and maintained.

Key areas of responsibility:

Accurate and timely processing of high volumes of supplier invoices. To include posting and matching invoices to the system and maintaining accurate accounting records.
Supplier statement reconciliation. To include reconciliation and query resolution.
Supporting budget holders and verifiers through the purchasing process on the finance system (Financials Live), advising on outstanding actions required and how best to resolve them.
Maintaining supplier database, including adding new supplier and verifying bank details.
Assisting the PL Lead with their duties as appropriate.
Assisting, where needed, during student enrolment and examinations.
Any other duties commensurate to the grade.

Skills and Competencies you’ll need for this role:

Experience of working in a finance role or finance department, ideally purchase ledger.
Hold, or be working towards, an AAT (or equivalent) qualification. You could be Qualified by Experience – we’d love to hear from you too.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Have an organised and methodical approach, being able to prioritise workload where necessary.
An excellent attention to detail.
Be able to confidently deal with external suppliers.
The ability to build strong relationships with colleagues across multiple departments.
Good IT skills: Excel, experience with Financials Live would be advantageous but full training will be given.
