Would you like to be involved in supporting the production of City & Guilds’ qualifications in Health, Safety and Construction?

We are looking for associates to write, support and quality assure the production of the Health and Safety and Principles of Building in Construction assessments with the first assessment from September 2025 and beyond.

As a production associate for Technical Occupational Entry (OTQ) you will be directly involved in the creation and maintenance of Theory exams which are onscreen multiple-choice tests, that will be available on-demand.

The Task Profile outlines the expectations of these roles, and the Person Specification outlines the experience we’re looking for someone to have as a production associate.

All activity must take place within the UK with the potential to travel to London for meetings when required, although it is anticipated that most of the assessment production activity will take place remotely. 

As a production associate, you will play a pivotal role in the creation, review, and quality assurance of our Health and Safety and Principles of Building in Construction OTQ assessments. This position requires a deep understanding of Health and safety in a Construction environment as well as the principles of building construction, strong writing skills, and meticulous attention to detail. These roles hold responsibility for developing assessment materials, revising them to ensure clarity and accuracy and scrutinising them to meet standards. You may also be required to attend assessment material evaluation meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

Assessment Writing:
Create original, relevant, and accurate assessment materials, including multiple-choice questions.
Ensure content aligns with the latest specification guidelines and industry standards in dental nursing.
Develop clear marking schemes and model answers for assessments.
Participate in the Assessment Material Evaluation Committee (AMEC) meeting to discuss any changes required to the material.  
Reviser:
Review the initial draft assessment materials, along with mark scheme/marking grids checking that the responses/outputs required are appropriate.  
Produce a report which comments on the suitability of individual questions/tasks/briefs, the provisional assessment as a whole and the mark scheme/grid.    
Participate in the Assessment Material Evaluation Committee (AMEC) meeting to discuss any changes required to the material.  
Attend training required for the role as requested by City & Guilds.  
Scrutineer:
Review the final drafts of Assessment material without reference to the mark schemes   
Check assessments can be answered or completed in the time allowed and that there are no errors or omissions  
Ensure the assessment questions comply with the syllabus and test specification  
Review the mark scheme to ensure that the marks given are identical to those on the question paper/Review guidance to ensure expectations of assessments are clear  
Provide sign-off of final version and return it within the specified time when required  
Undertake to offer the services set out above within the specified times and in accordance with City & Guilds’ procedures.
