Our clients have been established for over 40 years and specialise in the delivery of Apprenticeships and Vocational training through NVQs. As a PHSE (Personal, Social, Health, and Economic) Tutor you will be responsible for teaching a range of PHSE curriculums, including Personal Social Development (PSD), Life Skills, and Employability Skills, tailored to the specific needs of different student cohorts throughout the academic year, as directed by the Head of Department. The role also involves actively contributing to curriculum development in the subject area and ensuring Quality Assurance in teaching and other assigned duties. This is a full-time position, 36 hrs a week £26,000 per annum. You can also opt to work Term time only for £22,000 per annum.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, deliver, and assess courses 
Provide a detailed syllabus/course outlines and initial schemes of work for each course, updating them as necessary.
Prepare session plans and learning materials 
Provide subject-specific information, advice, and support to learners
Monitor, mark, and assess learners’ work, maintain records, and prepare learners for exams and accreditation
Reporting feedback to the Centre Head and/or Curriculum Managers
Oversee teaching quality.
Engage in continuing professional and curriculum development, participating in training to stay updated with subject and national/local learning developments.
Support invigilation for other subjects and participate in invigilation training.
Perform other duties as required by Management.

Requirements

Possess in-depth knowledge and substantial experience in the PHSE
Hold a teaching qualification such as a PGCE, PTLLS, DTLLS..
Have experience in teaching or working with students aged 16+.
Understand the principles of teaching post-16, including planning, delivery, assessment, and evaluation of learning.
Be aware of various learning strategies and teaching methods suitable for diverse abilities.
Demonstrate effective oral and written communication, numeracy, and interpersonal skills to interact with staff and learners (at least Level 2 or willingness to acquire equivalent qualification).
