Head of Payroll, Pensions & People Systems

Portfolio Payroll are partnered with an organisation in the education sector who are currently recruiting for a Head of Payroll, Pensions & Systems to join them on a 2 year FTC basis.

This role will report into the Director of Finance and will be responsible for 3 direct reports.

Responsibilities include:

1. Overseeing the payroll & pensions operations for permanent and casual staff
2. Provide expertise on payroll & pension issues
3. Administration of four pension schemes
4. Advise senior management on pension scheme developments
5. Maintain, update & create salary scales on the HR & Payroll system
6. Day to day management and supervision of the payroll team

Experience required:

1. Experience of managing a payroll function within a medium or large sized organisation
2. Excellent people management & leadership skills
3. Extensive pension experience, ideally with the following schemes: SAUL, USS, NHSSS
4. Experience in Higher Education or NHS is desirable
5. iTrent systems knowledge desirable
