Academic Skills Tutors (£22,400-£24,850 pro-rata) – Two Posts 0.6FTE – Fixed Term to 31 July 2025

Are you passionate about education and empowering young people to reach their full potential? If so, we’re looking for you to join our team as an Academic Skills Tutor.

We have two part-time Academic Skills Tutor positions and these posts may suit recent graduates, current University degree or masters/PhD students alongside their current studies. The two positions have the below specialism:

Social Sciences Academic Skills Tutor (0.6FTE)
GCSE Academic Skills Tutor (0.6FTE)
High Pavement Sixth Form is part of Nottingham College which is now rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. It is a city based sixth form campus for full-time 16-19 academic study programmes to over 1000 students in A levels, 14-16 EHE GCSEs and 16-19 FT GCSE.

The successful candidates will be responsible for providing academic support and guidance to either our GCSE or A level students. These roles focus on enhancing students’ transition to college, developing independence, study skills, time management, and facilitating academic success. The academic skills tutors will help students develop effective learning strategies and foster a positive learning environment that will ensure students go into exams feel confident to achieve and exceed their targets.

The post will be shortlisted against the essential and desirable criteria at the application stage from the person specification. Please ensure that you use the Job Profile and provide a CV and cover letter. This should be no longer than three sides of A4.
