Hammond releases the purse strings… a little! FE Soundbite #464

FE Soundbite 464

Welcome to FE Soundbite Edition #464

You couldn’t escape the Tory Party Conference in the news today. It appears my old MP Geoffrey Cox nearly stole the show, but there was plenty of exciting outcomes for the sector.

Philip Hammond has released the purse strings on the Levy from a 10% to a 25% Levy contribution to their Supply chain. The most popular article this week on FE News was the sector reaction to this: Extra £90M in funding and 25% of Apprenticeship Levy able to be transferred to supply chain

At the bottom of the article there is also mention of additional funding for SME’s particularly around management to help increase productivity, which sounds awesome.

Team UK also had a top 10 finish at EuroSkills. It was a slight drop in medals to previous EuroSkills, but a top 10 finish, which is great.

There was also an additional £38m released for T-levels: £38 million being made available to first providers of T Levels

Great news, we heard yesterday that FE Careers are finalist in the best specialist Job Board and FE News as the best Trade Publication at the National Online Recruitment Awards (NORAs)… fingers crossed!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy FE Soundbite this week!
