New Managing Director for SCL Education and Training
SCL Education Group announce the appointment of Brad Rushton as Managing Director for SCL Education and Training, as they maintain their focus on strengthening and building their teams for further and future success.
One of the UK’s leading independent providers of education through sport for 16-18 year olds, SCL deliver further education, apprenticeships and sports development programmes nationwide across football, rugby and cricket, in partnership with more than 70 professional, private and grassroots sports clubs, foundations and community trusts.
Making strides towards their vision of positively impacting on the future prospects of one million children and young people, and their mission of creating a legacy in the communities they serve, SCL Education Group are now delighted to announce the appointment of Brad Rushton as the new Managing Director for SCL Education and Training.
Having joined the business as Commercial Director twelve months ago, Brad has been heavily involved in not only the commercial teams, but also Quality and Operations. Brad has focused on new strategy for the business and has led SCL Education and Training to a successful and positive Ofsted result in December.
Brad’s strong, proven experience and success in leading large and remote teams in both Operations and Sales will empower SCL to deliver service excellence and quality experience to their learners and partners.
Prior to joining SCL, Brad spent 14 years working in leadership roles within the fitness industry, from General Management through to leading UK Operations for Fitness First.
It was after graduating from University that Brad gained his first opportunity to be involved in the fitness industry, with a small, independent provider, having always been involved in sport from a young age.
“I was clueless even post-graduation about the careers that existed within the sports sector and it was through my time at a small independent Health Club that I realised that there were opportunities to shape a career within the sport and physical activity sector”, Brad explained.
Following his promotion to Lead Operations for Fitness First UK, Brad was offered the opportunity to attend the UK Active Future Leaders programme, which took place at IESE in Barcelona in 2016.
The incredible 5-day experience brought together like-minded individuals in the sector, to network and learn from industry leading professors in the most spectacular surroundings.
Brad explained: “It was during this trip that I learned about SCL and the amazing work they do; engaging young people in education through the power of sport.
Brad continued: “The sector has incredible opportunities allowing young people to turn their passion into their career. Unfortunately, more work is needed to be done to showcase these opportunities.
“SCL is well positioned as a result of the work Lewis and Steve have done to establish the organisation as a market leader of education through sport. I now have an incredible opportunity to build on this and make SCL famous for the development of the next generation of sports sector and educational professionals.”
Continuing on their journey of putting the learner at the centre of everything they do, SCL are proud to be investing in strengthening and building their teams and processes, to support with achieving positive learner outcomes.
Lewis Field, Chief Executive Officer, and Steve Franks, Chief Commercial Officer, at SCL Education Group, announced:
“We are delighted that this has been a success and as the business has grown and we have appointed some great individuals, this has allowed us to focus all our efforts on the future strategy of the SCL Education Group to enable continued and future growth in existing and new markets.”
Brad added: “Over the last twelve months, it has been my privilege to work alongside a brilliant team, delivering fantastic work with young people, and together, achieving positive outcomes.
“I am proud and excited to have this opportunity as the new Managing Director for SCL Education and Training, and I am confident that with the teams in place, and the quality improvements that we are making, we are certain to see success.”
