Realise welcomes new Board Director to lead people strategy
@RealiseLE is delighted to welcome Sue Kamal, who will join the business in the newly created post of People Director.
This decision to appoint Sue marks the next stage of evolution for Realise, and further establishes the company’s commitment to people. It also comes during an exciting period of growth for Realise which follows a management buyout supported by SME private equity funder Enact and a rebrand in late 2020.
Sue started her career as a trainer, before going on to hold senior positions in HR with Aviva, Lloyds Bank and Reuters News Agency. She has been a trusted HR partner to business leaders across Europe, Asia and North America and has undertaken several specialist roles including Leadership Development, Business Change, Talent and Performance Management. Sue’s appointment will reinforce Realise’s commitment to putting people at the centre of its’ business strategy.
In September 2020, Sue was initially introduced to Realise on a consultancy basis by Enact, supporting the transition from being part of the Interserve Group to a standalone training provider. Under Sue’s consultation the company has already fundamentally changed its people approach. Sue worked with the leadership team to develop a people strategy that is now being delivered, including a new behavioural framework, the transition to Servant Leadership and a greater focus on wellbeing.
Commenting on the appointment, Sue said: “I’m delighted to be joining Realise. Many companies talk a good game when it comes to putting people at the centre of their business strategy. Having worked with the leadership team, it’s clear that they really are doing this and the rate of change is impressive. I’m excited to be working with them on this journey.”
“It’s fundamental to Realise’s growth strategy. Many companies offer apprenticeships, few do so with the integrity and expertise to ensure that learners are on the right programme and that on completion, there is a measurable change in their capability.”
“Realise is creating a workplace culture that’s really special – I’m delighted to be part of it.”
