Barking & Dagenham College media Students meet West End actor

A group of Barking & Dagenham College media students met star of Disney’s the Lion King musical, @ShaunEscoffery, on Thursday night.

The BTEC Production Arts and BTEC Film Media students went on a group trip to watch Shaun feature as King Mufasa in the popular show at the Lyceum Theatre, London.

An alumnus of the college, Shaun studied performing arts there in the 1990s. He now has a studio named after him in the East London Institute of Technology, Barking & Dagenham College.

Lucy Mckinnon, 17 from Dagenham chatted to Shaun and commented:

“The experience was magical, like watching art come to life on stage. Shaun was so nice and humble. He was an incredible part of the show and it’s really inspiring that he studied at Barking & Dagenham College.”

Shaun said: “It was great to see students from my former college, Barking & Dagenham College watching the show yesterday; I was glad to meet them outside the stage door after the curtain went down, to find out what they thought of the show.”
