Find your trade at Barnsley College

Barnsley College is offering a chance for those aged 16 to 19 to try out different construction and engineering trades.

The College’s Level 1 Multi-trade course provides an introduction to a range of professions including painting and decorating, carpentry and joinery, electrical, plastering, plumbing, brickwork and motor vehicle.

This highly practical programme is designed to develop knowledge and practical skills to prepare students for a specialised construction or engineering programme.

The course also gives the opportunity to improve English, Maths, and IT skills ready for the next level of study or work.

College tutors will provide full support throughout the course and students can also take part in enrichment activities.

Tutor Liam Stevenson said: “This course is fantastic for young people who may wish to work in construction or engineering but are unsure exactly what they are looking for. It gives them a taste of many construction and engineering trades so they can find the one for them, while also getting the English, Maths and IT skills that employers want their staff to have.”
