Oxford International launches new China Academic Advisory Board, targets growth in the region

The advisory board builds on Oxford International’s innovative partnerships with leading Chinese universities to expand its sector-leading study preparation courses in China

Oxford International Education Group today has announced the expansion of its sector-leading study preparation courses in China, and the launch of a China Academic Advisory Board.

Building on its partnerships with leading universities in China, Oxford International will extend its innovative Academic English Preparation programmes in China, helping students embarking on international study programmes in China or overseas. This will include the roll out of its landmark blended pre-sessional programme and the launch of the first ever blended Undergraduate Foundation and pre-Masters programmes in China.  A number of other innovatively structured new programmes focussed on in-country preparation are also scheduled for launch in 2022.

To support its continued growth in China and improve the quality of English language and academic study support programmes in the country, Oxford International has also established a China Academic Advisory Board. The board will create materials and share industry expertise to significantly enhance cross-cultural learning programmes, including linking with the development programme of the British Council. 

The China Academic Advisory Board will include representatives from Oxford International’s UK and Chinese partners, as well as the British Council, and will engage directly with the Chinese Service Centre for Scholarly Exchange and Chinese Education Association for International Exchange as part of the commitment to innovation, quality and relevance.

Since launching in 2020, Oxford International’s unique blended pre-sessional programme remains the only one of its kind in China. It provides face-to-face teaching, flexibly delivered with an immersive online experience.

Delivered in five locations across China, the programme has benefitted several hundred students by helping them to continue their international study preparation throughout the pandemic or whilst undertaking additional studies or work. The students have achieved great academic success, demonstrating how effectively they have been prepared for programmes delivered in English whether in China or overseas.
