Barnsley College to host global film festival
Members of the public will have the opportunity to attend global hit, The Frontier Sapiens Film Festival, as part of Barnsley College’s Week of Culture on Tuesday 15 March.
Showcasing a selection of the best adventure, cultural and environmental films around the world, the Frontier Sapiens Film Festival, hosted at the College’s Electric Theatre, Falcon Street, hopes to draw attention to those whose voices aren’t being heard and celebrate those who are pushing boundaries or leaders in their field.
They have a drive to shine the spotlight on the captivating stories behind individuals working towards positive change in the world and the films they show have been described as captivating and thought-provoking as they inspire stories of human endeavour.
Frontier Sapiens create and facilitate a range of exciting film and speaker events in order to educate, entertain, inspire and move their audiences. The film festival was born from a desire to showcase the best of humankind and each year, celebrates human spirit and the untold stories of inspirational people from all walks of life.
Lee Perks, Enterprise Team Leader at Barnsley College, has played a key role in organising the event. He said:
“We are so excited to welcome the Frontier Sapiens into College as they continue to tour their hugely inspiring film festival. We have been planning this for quite some time and hope that our guests will leave feeling inspired and with a renewed hope in the people and communities around them.
“The College is committed to transforming lives and hopes this event will be a real success. Places are limited so I encourage all guests to register as soon as possible!”
To attend the event, individuals must register their place by Monday 14 March. Registration is completely free. The event runs from 5.00pm – 7.30pm on Tuesday 15 March.
