Meet the 2022 edition of the GSV EdTech 150 — GSV’s annual listing of the most transformational companies in digital learning!

In 2019, we published the inaugural GSV EdTech 50 — then a global pandemic brought 1.6 billion learners online overnight, and our list of EdTech leaders tripled in size.

As Covid-19 continues to drive the world online, more and more companies are innovating in the space, proving that digital learning is and will continue to be an education mainstay.

The world has woken up to the tremendous opportunity for EdTech companies to leverage technology not just to increase access and affordability of education but to improve quality and outcomes for learners. The companies doing this at scale and achieving the highest Return on Education (RoE) are in the 2022 edition of the GSV EdTech 150.

GSV evaluated over 3,000 VC and PE-backed private companies using these five criteria (revenue scale, revenue growth, user reach, geographic diversification, and margins profile) to determine the final 150. We estimate that these 150 companies together reach ~3 billion people — almost half of the global population — and generate approximately $20 billion in revenue.
