Royal Honours for ALP Chief Executive Graham Hoyle
Graham Hoyle, chief executive of the Association of Learning Providers, was awarded the OBE for services to skills training in Bristol.
Mr Hoyle, 61, lives in Saltford but grew up in Barton Hill, running the boys’ club there for 25 years.He spent more than 20 years with the Employment Service, and in the 1990s was chief executive of the Gloucestershire Training and Enterprise Council.In 2002 he joined the ALP, a Keynsham-based organisation which helps colleges, charities and private sector companies with their training, skills policies and negotiations with the Government for funding.
A delighted Mr Hoyle said: "It is an absolute and genuine honour to receive the OBE."I have been pushing the Government for some years to recognise high-quality training providers, and I am a bit embarrassed that they have picked me out."
