Student awards to reach new heights

David Grailey is chief executive of NCFE, the national awarding organisation
A search to find the UK’s star student has been launched by leading national qualification provider NCFE

For the ninth consecutive year, NCFE is urging tutors to nominate learners for the national Student of the Year Awards, which recognise students across the country who have made significant progress and gained remarkable achievements.

Tutors have until Friday 19 September 2008 to nominate students for the award.

Two finalists will then be selected from each region and invited to attend a national ceremony on Wednesday 12 November 2008 at Gosforth Racecourse, Newcastle, where the national winner will be announced.

David Grailey, Chief Executive at NCFE, commented: “The NCFE Student of the Year Awards is a great event and highlights the potential, determination and ability amongst many of our students.

“The awards also coincide with NCFE’s 160th anniversary so the event is going to be a great celebration of learning and success.

“Last year’s event was phenomenal and it enabled us to meet NCFE students from around the country and celebrate their achievements. We are therefore urging tutors to nominate their star students, enabling them to gain recognition for all their hard work and accomplishments.”

Applications can be made online or by downloading an application form at www.ncfe.org.uk
