Pearson VUE’s 15-year partnership with Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) expands GMAT exam access to 100 countries worldwide
Pearson VUE, the global leader in computer-based testing, announced today an extension of its long-standing partnership with the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMACTM), for continued delivery of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMATTM) and Executive Assessment (EA) globally.
The GMAT is the premier admissions test for business schools and management programs worldwide, assessing graduate management candidates in the areas of Integrated Reasoning (IR), Verbal Reasoning (VR), and Quantitative Reasoning (QR).
In addition to delivering the exams, Pearson VUE distributes official scores to graduate schools (as selected by candidates) and supports the computer adaptive testing element of the GMAT which includes both a machine and human scored essay component.
As traditional academic settings continue to evolve in an increasingly digital world, computer-based exams have become essential tools in assessing students’ knowledge and skills for entry into academic programs. For more than 60 years, the GMAT has been the most widely used exam for MBA admissions, accepted by over 7000 graduate management programs worldwide.
Since GMAC first partnered with Pearson VUE in 2006, access to the exam has expanded to nearly 800 test centers in over 100 countries – an incredible 87% percent growth rate with the GMAT and EA available at these test sites all year round. Many innovative technologies have been introduced over this time. Palm vein biometric scanning provides an unparalleled level of test security for schools when making important admissions decisions. Online proctoring with OnVUE helped business school candidates complete their applications during the pandemic.
Sangeet Chowfla, President and CEO, Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), commented:
‘’Extending our long-standing relationship with Pearson VUE is a testament to our shared values and unwavering commitment to providing far-reaching access to management education candidates to take their exam. We are excited to have expanded the global reach of the GMAT while also maintaining the very highest standards in test security, reliability, and integrity.’’
Bob Whelan, President and CEO, Pearson VUE, said
“We are honored to be continuing our partnership with such a world-leading organization as the GMAC. Over the last decade and a half, we have endeavoured to provide best-in-class test delivery services, implemented new technologies and leveraged the latest measurement techniques, to ensure that the GMAT remains the global leader in graduate management admissions assessments.”
