£4.4million to support student mental health and wellbeing @NUSScotland
The Scottish Government has today (25th February) announced an additional £4.4million to help provide mental health and wellbeing services to college students and staff as they deal with the impact of the pandemic.
Commenting on the funding Matt Crilly, NUS Scotland President, said:
“We warmly welcome today’s additional funding which will help to support college students’ mental health and wellbeing after a tough academic year.
“The impact of Covid-19 on both staff and students staff has undoubtedly taken its toll – academically, financially and socially, the pressures this year have been unlike any other.
“Now more than ever we need to ensure the mental health and wellbeing of students is looked after, and this funding is a welcome start to ensuring that every student who needs support, can access it.”
