The Henley College A level Student offered place at Cambridge

Amin Royatvand Ghiasvand has been offered a place at the University of Cambridge (@Cambridge_Uni) to study Theology, Religions & Philosophy of Religion. He also holds offers from Kings College London (@KingsCollegeLon), the University of Bristol (@BristolUni) and the University of Bangor (@BangorUni). 

Amin is originally from Iran and joined The Henley College in 2019. He is currently studying A levels in Ancient History, Religious Studies and Maths, and in his first year at the College he also achieved an A* in The Extended Project. 

Talking about why he chose The Henley College Amin said: 

“The Henley College was the only place in the whole country that I could do the subjects that I love. I [also] felt very much encouraged by the admission process, and inspired by the College’s lovely old buildings.” 

Speaking further about the support the College offers its students, he said: 

“I have had some very conscientious and effective teachers in each of my subjects. I feel my tutors have been excellent at adapting to online teaching during the recent lockdowns.” 

Amin went on to praise the commitment and help the College’s dedicated Oxbridge Coordinator, Dr Joanna Atkinson, has provided during the university application process, commenting that she “even responds to emails at the weekends!”.  

After university Amin hopes to go on to be a researcher in philosophical theology. Amin’s teachers at The Henley College are incredibly proud of his achievements and success.
