Harrogate College provides free courses to support economic growth

@HarrogateColl is playing a key role in driving economic recovery in the district, by offering free adult courses to improve future job prospects. 

With the aim of revitalising the local economy following the pandemic, the college has introduced a variety of courses for adults who have been made redundant, are unemployed or on furlough. 

The bespoke programmes focus on a range of topics including team leading, media marketing, interior design, accounting and counselling. 

Danny Wild, Principal at Harrogate College, said: “We appreciate how challenging this year has been for many. We’re dedicated to supporting people to upskill and reskill, enabling them to progress in current jobs or return to work following the increase in furlough job losses across the district. We hope to give those who have been most affected an opportunity to take control of their future and work towards something to be proud of.

“These part-time courses will be free from mid-January and will be delivered both online and face-to-face in a Covid-19 safe environment at Harrogate College. Learners studying online can benefit from flexibility with evening classes, while our practical courses allow students to experience our industry-standard facilities.” 

Many of the courses have been designed in line with local employer demands and the college is committed to working with an increased number of businesses in the area to tailor courses to fit their needs.
