Two new trustees join the ETF Board

@E_T_Foundation welcome @Pallysingh11 & @LynetteLeith to the Board 

The Education and Training Foundation (ETF), the expert body for professional development and standards in Further Education (FE) and Training in England, has appointed two new trustees to its Board.

Following an open recruitment process, Palvinder Singh and Lynette Leith will serve for a period of three years, renewable for a further three years.

Palvinder Singh has been involved in the FE sector for over twenty years, working in various roles in colleges across the country. His current role is Group Deputy Principal at Kidderminster College, a division of NCG, one of the UK’s largest national training and colleges groups.

Lynette Leith is an education consultant in FE, working exclusively on technical and vocational curriculum. With over twelve years’ experience in the sector, she has worked in a range of roles across a diverse set of areas in FE including T Level Implementation.

David Russell, Chief Executive at the Education and Training Foundation, said:

“Palvinder and Lynette are brilliant additions to our board. We were looking for applicants who have a deep understanding of the FE system, considerable experience with learners and a passion for social justice. We found many and were privileged to be able to appoint two of them. I am humbled that Palvinder and Lynette have chosen to devote their skills and time to the ETF’s mission, and I am very much looking forward to working with them and learning from them.”

“The Board is delighted to make these two very high-quality appointments. Their extensive lived experience working in FE and diverse range of specialisms will add real value to the Board as we continue to develop the support the ETF provides to the sector.”

Together with existing Board members, the new trustees will provide the Board with a wealth of experience and expertise within an FE and training context as well as current practitioner and learner perspectives.

On his appointment to the ETF Board of Trustees, Palvinder Singh said:

“‘I am delighted to be appointed as a trustee of the ETF. I am excited to support all the great work it does for the FE and Skills sector. I am particularly interested in how the ETF’s work impacts teachers and students in the classroom. I look forward to supporting and further developing the ETF strategy and sharing my experiences.”

On her appointment, Lynette Leith said:

“I am absolutely thrilled to accept this appointment. Covid-19 has had a major impact on education and the economy, directly affecting how and what we do. Curriculum and skills development for both students and staff is more crucial than ever. During these challenging times, I’m looking forward to working with the Board and colleagues at the ETF in supporting their important contribution to the sector.”
