The European Social Fund (ESF) has awarded the Lancashire Learning and Skills Council (LSC) a grant to promote employment opportunities within the region. The LSC, which receives government support, plans and funds high-quality vocational education and training.
The grant will help promote increased participation and achievement by young people and adults in learning and training schemes. The LSC also wants to encourage growth of the number of employers committed to improving employee skills.
LSC Lancashire Executive Director Steve Palmer said the ESF money would enable LSC Lancashire to give greater support to learners in the area.”The funding will enable providers to deliver additional activities throughout Lancashire, which aim to develop employment by promoting employability, the business spirit, equal opportunities and investing in human resource development,” said Palmer.
