Cambridge Regional College urges students getting GCSE results not to panic

#GCSEResults2020 – Cambridge Regional College (@CRC_College) urges students in the region, receiving their results, that no matter what #GCSEResultsDay may bring, the College has a wide range of study options and ongoing support to assist young people following receipt of their exam results.

The 2020 cohort of GCSE students are anxiously awaiting their exam results after an academic year no like no other. Understandably, lockdown, the cancellation of exams and the increasing media focus on the challenges of exam grading already this week, has resulted in mounting pressure on young people as they consider their next steps.

Cambridge Regional College offers study programmes starting at Level 1 right through to higher education at Level 5, across a wide range of curriculum areas meaning that there really is something for everyone, whether looking for Post 16, Level 3 (A-level equivalent), traineeships, apprenticeships or Higher Education courses.

To support young people in identifying the options available, CRC is hosting online and on-campus Advice Café drop-in sessions (following social-distancing guidelines) with trained career experts and course tutors throughout the remainder of August and the early part of September.

“We recognise that these are unprecedented times, and an especially challenging and worrying time for the young people in our region.  We would urge any young person receiving their results this summer to remain calm and focussed. Cambridge Regional College is on hand to support all young people with navigating their way through this difficult time so that they can identify the right course for them that will set them on a great career path.

“Every year we see many examples of graduating CRC students who have completed vocational study programmes go on to achieve their aspirations of attending university or taking the first steps towards their dream career through apprenticeships or employment. Some of these students may not have initially received the GCSE results they had hoped for before they started college but have gone on to achieve their goals.”
