London College of Contemporary Arts appoints Dr Kate Armstrong as Head of College

London College of Contemporary Arts (@LCCAUK) has announced the appointment of Dr Kate Armstrong as Head of College. 

Dr Armstrong’s academic and education career within higher education has spanned over two decades, where she has contributed to the success of business schools and their students in many leadership roles.   

She is founder and Chair of the Fashion Marketing Consumption + Discourse (FMCD) research network and Special Interest Group aligned with the Academy of Marketing. Previous academic roles include Dean of the Creative Industries Business School at Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design.  

Since 2018, Dr Armstrong has been a Fund Reviewer for the Newton Fund, an organisation that aims is to develop science and innovation partnerships that promote the economic development and welfare of collaborating countries.   

She also covered the role of Founder and Director of the Imagination Research Lab at the Institute of Imagination, a charity that focuses on enriching lives through creative education, to which she remains linked on a pro bono basis.    

Dr Armstrong’s industry experience as a market research and brand consultant within the creative industries, coupled with her leadership on the research teams for projects with Tate and the Southbank Centre, provides a strong foundation for her Head of College stewardship.  

As Head of College, Dr Armstrong will support LCCA in further developing its academic offer and expand its network of collaborations, working closely with the leadership of the various schools within the institution to create more opportunities for the students and staff.
