Kirklees College to host Adult Virtual Open Day

With traditional open days postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, @kirkleescollege  will be hosting a Virtual Open Day to support its prospective Adult and part-time students who are considering a new career or wanting to learn a new skill.

Following the success of its previous events, the next instalment of the online programme will take place via the new Kirklees College website, where people will be able to access information on the college’s Adult and part-time courses, as well as virtual tours of its centres and presentations on subject areas, including Motor Vehicle, Construction, Computing, Community Learning and Business.

Teaching and support staff will also be available to talk to online during the timetabled Q&A sessions via Microsoft Teams to guide students through the study options available to fit around their personal and family commitments, as well as the application process and student support services.

Mark Bennington, Vice Principal Corporate Operations at Kirklees College, said:

“The coronavirus pandemic has meant that the education sector has had to adapt swiftly and decisively to the challenges and ever-changing circumstances that we all face. We expect to see greater demand for jobs in many of the subject areas we offer at Kirklees College and encourage those seeking work, wanting a career change or to upskill to improve their job prospects, to sign up and see how we can support their next steps.”

Registration for the upcoming Virtual Open Day is now open. The presentations will also be available to view after the event on the Kirklees College YouTube channel and website.
