Overview

With safeguarding being such an essential element of learner support, safeguarding staff wellbeing has never been more important.
1. Learners are now presenting with more issues, and more complex issues. What effect does this have on frontline staff?
2. Stress, anxiety and depression are the biggest reason for workplace absences, overtaking musculoskeletal issues in recent years.
3. Most employee wellbeing support is very generalised. Employee Assistance Programme providers don’t understand some of the specific challenges that our sector faces.
4. The workforce now clearly puts wellbeing support at the very front of its “want list” – failing to meet those needs leads to high staff attrition, low morale and low productivity.
