The Youth Worker post is an exciting role aimed at improving the learner experience and enrichment opportunities for students predominately aged 16-18 years.

As the Youth Worker, you will be responsible for developing and delivering as part of a wider programme of enrichment to students. With previous experience of delivering activities to young people of college age, the successful candidate will possess the skills to promote activities to students. By being part of an existing team, the Youth Worker will provide a significant contribution along with other staff, to ensure that there are opportunities for students to engage with a wide range of activities.

You will also be a member of the college Safeguarding team which will include supporting a caseload of potentially vulnerable students, assessing risk and taking appropriate timely action. You will consult with the DSL where necessary to Safeguard students in line with policies and procedures.

You will play a significant role to the successful running of the existing large social space for students, which is a real vibrant safe space for students.

In addition to delivering activities, the Youth Worker, will have experience of working with young people on a 1-2-1, where those skills will be used to supplement case work undertaken by the Student Support Team.

Previous experience of youth and community work and especially delivering and/or developing activities will enable the successful candidate to thrive. You may be required to deliver student workshops in other areas to support their personal development, to a diverse range of students and have a strong desire to see students succeed.

An excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships and have a strong desire to work collaboratively as part of a high performing team.
