 Our clients are thrilled to recruit a Business Development Manager to expand their Adult Technical Training, HGV, Light Vehicle, and Autocare apprenticeship programs. They are looking for a highly motivated individual with a successful sales background and experience in apprenticeships. The ideal candidate will have the drive and ambition to achieve outstanding results in gaining access to the key decision makers and influencers in automotive and logistic organisations.
This is a field-based role, so travel and being a self-starter with a proven track record in the territory and sector is essential. While this is a remote role you will need to travel to the Derby offices periodically. Role Objectives:

Engage with employers to generate commercial funded starts for our training programs.
Actively seek new business opportunities with potential clients, building strong relationships and showcasing our expanding services.
Create leads through field sales, cold calling, networking, and presentations.
Maintain and grow employer relationships to secure new and repeat business.
Increase revenue and develop strategies for future growth.
Consult with clients to assess their training needs.
Work collaboratively with the bid management team on strategies.
Manage financial aspects of opportunities, including budget development.
Lead proposal writing and presentation creation and delivery.
Maintain regular contact with key targets at all levels within customer organizations.
Keep up-to-date knowledge of target customers, their businesses, products, challenges, and our competitors.
Maintain relevant sales plans and pipelines.
Promote Remit Training within target accounts.
Perform additional duties as needed to meet business and customer demands.
Identify and develop business improvement opportunities.
Promote a culture of learning through workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and leadership development.
Stay informed about developments in the learning and development sector and funding opportunities.
Use innovative approaches to drive growth and encourage innovation in others.
Plan and prioritize personal sales activities to meet business goals.
Complete necessary reporting to keep management informed of progress.

Experience:

Functional skills at Level 2 in English, Maths, and ICT, or equivalent.
At least 3 years of experience in a Business Development role, meeting and exceeding targets.
Minimum 1 year in a similar role within the apprenticeship training sector.
Experience in selling commercial training.
Proven track record of achieving results through building trust and relationships.
Experience traveling, meeting clients, and attending networking events.
Experience presenting ideas consultatively at the executive level.
Experience in strategic solution development and implementation.
Demonstrable experience in understanding prospective customers’ strategic growth plans and aligning them with our products and services.

Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent negotiation, influencing, and presentation skills.
Strong analytical and IT skills.
Proven experience in developing relationships, influencing, and negotiating with employers.
Extensive knowledge of the automotive sector.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Valid driving license.
