Group Lead Health and Safety Compliance

Salary: £44,061 per annum

Location: Fareham, Hampshire

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week

The South Hampshire College Group has established a new position for a Group Lead Health and Safety Compliance. This exciting new opportunity will provide a “second line defence” function to ensure Health and Safety practices, policies and culture are best practice across our Group.

Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the role will be responsible for

* Provision of H and S subject matter expertise in areas including legislative compliance, improving reporting of hazards, risks and near misses, oversight of H and S trends and implementation of preventative H and S measures across all campuses
* Working in a highly collaborative manner with the Estates and Facilities team to ensure compliance to H and S requirements and to drive an overall improvement in safety culture
* Monitor employee long term absence and support return to work
* Undertake independent reviews of any major H and S incidents or events including near misses

This role requires exceptional interpersonal skills, strong collaborative working style and an outstanding knowledge of H and S workplace legislation and requirements. A demonstrated background in Health and Safety oversight is mandatory and NEBOSH NG1 or equivalent qualifications required.
