Merton College are now seeking three Lecturers;

X 1 Permanent, Full Time – £36,571 – £44,145 per annum (Aurora provision)
X 1 Permanent, Part Time (0.8) – £29,256 – £35,316 per annum (Aurora provision)
X 1 Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover, commencing in October 2024), Full Time – £36,571 – £44,145 per annum (Foundation Learning)
Based within our Foundation Learning Department at Merton College, you will provide tutorial and pastoral care for a group or groups of learners with learning disabilities/difficulties and monitor work experience activities. You will act as a Course Leader and take responsibility for their study programme including Maths and English. You will take an active role in all aspects of student assessment and accreditation and take part in curriculum planning and product development, to deliver the College’s strategic objectives.

Candidates for this role will have experience of working with and understand the needs of SEND and be able to work successful as part of a team. With experience of providing effective student support, you will be able to manage students offering challenging behaviour and demonstrate the ability to teach and to communicate at a level appropriate to the students and in a way that recognises their different learning abilities.

You will be aware of the changing agenda for SEND learners in further education, and the implications that this has for delivery and promotion of learning. You will have knowledge of the accreditation framework and assessment strategies in the post 16 sector, including RARPA and understand the application of information technology and assistive technology to teaching and learning strategies. Your experience will include working with external agencies and assessment and/or IV practices for a range of specialist accreditation.

Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.
