College in Sheffield Announces Return of Celebrity Chef Events
“
Following the success of last year’s cookery Master Class, a college in Sheffield has announced that celebrity chefs will once again be hosting a series of events designed to share their expertise with students and members of the public.
The cookery event was first launched last year as part of Castle College’s “Skills for Business” programme, during which the college invites world-class professionals to demonstrate their skills and experience to students. The Catering Team Leader at Castle College, John Janiszewski, spoke of how the success of last year’s event helped to ensure that the event was repeated, saying: “we are very proud of our excellent contacts in the gastronomic world, and I am absolutely delighted that we have once again been able to secure such a prestigious line up.”
Culinary Class Acts
The programme, which will consist of a number of events stretching over four months, will see seven high-profile names from the culinary world hosting Master Classes at venues around the city. Celebrity guests include Lesley Waters, a regular on BBC’s Ready Steady Cook, who is opening the Master Class Series with a cookery school on 22nd February.
Before eventually landing presenting roles on Can”t Cook, Won”t Cook and Food & Drink, Lesley studied French Cuisine at Ealing College for three years. She is also the author of numerous cookbooks and hosts a cookery school at her home in Dorset. Other highlights include an event hosted by Paul Rankin of the restaurant group Rankin Group. Simon Lilley, Head Chef of The Manor House Hotel, Dronfield, will be one of the visiting chefs representing the area’s local talent.
Ticket prices include a champagne reception, a Master Class demonstration by the chef and a five-course dinner. Further information, including a full programme of events, is available from Sheffield College.
