Media students from Clarendon Sixth Form College are ‘native creatives’ after industry event

Media students from Clarendon Sixth Form College gain insight into future careers at ‘native creatives’ event.

The event, which takes place annually at technology company UKFast in Manchester, sees leading figures in the creative and media industries discuss their careers and opportunities for young people. The event also includes a range of career related activities, help with CV writing and next steps advice from employers.

James Shenton, media teacher at Clarendon Sixth Form College, said: “It is a great opportunity to meet young people new to the creative industries and gain advice on how to get your foot in the door, for both those planning to go to university and going straight into the industry.”

Jessica Townend, media student at Clarendon Sixth Form College, said: “I had a really great time and managed to speak to some really engaging industry professionals from companies such as ITV. I even managed to get some business cards. It got me even more excited about my future prospects after college.”
