Top Quality New Recruits for the Local Council

The Learning and Skills Council (LSC)London Central has recently recruited a number of new members for their local council, creating a group that will prove to be greatly representative of the key sectors in London, including finance, regeneration, and the voluntary and community sectors.

Verity Bullough, the Executive Director of LSC London Central, said: “The new members of the Council will help to invigorate the group and sharpen its remit as a strategic body. I know that each individual brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the council.”

New Members

One of the new members is Angela McConville, the Director of Community Learning Services, Regeneration Division, Haywards Property Services, manages a portfolio of community ““ learning and development services across the City of Westminster. She has a strong interest in the skills agenda with relation to the creative and cultural industries.

Dr. Raymond Madden, Executive Director of Education and Training at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and onetime Global Head of Learning and Development, ABN AMRO Bank NV, will bring a wealth of knowledge gained over 15 years in management and development. The Vice Chancellor and Rector of the University of Westminster, Dr. Geoffrey Copland, also joins the council with his background of Higher Education.

Peter Ibbetson brings his interests in training and development to the group in his role as former Head of Natwest Business Banking. The Youth Crime Reduction Consultant Amanda Howell brings her professional expertise to the council. Also joining will be the Maxine Jones, the Director of Skills and Employment, London Development Agency, offering her skills in the fields of management skills and employment related projects.

Two members of the LSC London Central’s Business Alumni group have also been appointed as members of the council. David Congalton, Group Business Support Manager, Emprise Services plc, has responsibility for training with full commitment to raising the profile and education and qualifications within the cleaning sector. Peter Ingram, Quality and Compliance Manager, St Ives Financial Ltd., brings broad experience in the areas of project management, negotiation and business improvement to the council.
