Spanish teaching students watch educating Yorkshire

Student teachers from Spain have said gracias and adios to Bradford after completing work experience in the city.

A group of students from Granada University spent three weeks on an exchange programme organised with Bradford College’s teacher training team.

During their trip the Spanish students spent time working in local schools, including Bradford Academy, Grange Academy and Belle Vue Girls’ Academy, observing the British education system.

They also enjoyed lectures from the teacher training staff at Bradford College on topics such as behaviour management.

Their visit wasn’t all work, however, with the group also seeing the sites of York, Manchester and Saltaire during their stay.

Of their Bradford College hosts, the group said: “The responsible staff are great professionals and really nice people that always have a smile for you. On top of that, Bradford College has an amazing campus with plenty of facilities and spaces that are available for all students.”

Bradford College teaching students enjoyed the reverse experience, spending a week in primary schools in Granada.

The two teaching institutions have a long-standing working relationship which enhances the experience of their students.

Bradford College delivers a wide range of teaching courses including at undergraduate and postgraduate level and for those looking to work in primary or secondary schools as well as colleges and the adult education sector.
