.@BBC True North Visit SERC Lisburn
A production team from BBC NI True North visited Sourth Eastern Regional College’s (SERC) Lisburn Campus on Wednesday 1 May for some follow up filming with one of our students.
Margaret Commins, who is currently completing a Level 2 Award in Make Up will be featured in the new 13th series of True North to air in the autumn.
The documentary series looks at life in modern-day Northern Ireland. Margaret’s story is one of a busy working woman, a wife and mother who never stops. As well as bringing up her family, she is actively involved in her local community, a knitting group, and managed to find time to take on a part-time course at SERC, returning to education after many years, first completing a Level 1 in Make Up before progressing to Level 2 – hence the filming at SERC.
BBC NI team Jonny Muir and Rebecca Armstrong, aimed to capture a regular day with Margaret at College, with her classmates, her lecturer, Lisa Cunningham-Black and talking about support at the College with Gerard Madden from the Learning Support team.
We cannot wait to see the programme and will keep you posted of when it is due to air later in the year.
A huge thanks to everyone who helped with the filming this morning: L2 Media Make Up students, Lecturer, Lisa Cunningham-Black and Gerard Madden from Learning Support (both last minute additions following the BBC team meeting and chatting with them); Grahams team and Mount Charles team at Zest – your support in making this happen was greatly appreciated.
