This guidance is intended to help awarding organisations understand how to comply with the GCSE (9 to 1) qualification-level conditions and any associated requirements.
All awarding organisations have a legal obligation under section 153 of the Apprenticeships, Skills, Children and Learning Act 2009 to have regard to this guidance.
February 2017 update
Our guidance on standard setting came into force on 16 February 2017. This followed our consultation on Requirements on setting GCSE (9 to 1) grade boundaries.
