Education sector’s job market booms in weeks leading up to supposed #Brexit
Despite uncertainty in the weeks leading up to a supposed Brexit, new data from CV-Library, the UK’s leading independent job board, reveals that employers in the education sector have continued to remain confident.
In fact, the findings show there were 11.7% more education jobs on offer in March, with average salaries climbing by a steady 1.8%.
The findings, which compared job market data from March 2019 with the same period last year, also revealed that applications for new education jobs jumped up by an impressive 9% month-on-month.
Lee Biggins, founder and CEO of CV-Library, comments:
“Teachers are the very cornerstone of the education sector and it has been feared that Brexit would exacerbate the shortage of these professionals in the UK. Coupled with the fact that there’s been no real agreement set for Brexit, the future of British education is yet to be confirmed. However, our data suggests that the sector’s employers are reacting to the shortage by increasing their hiring efforts – and education professionals are listening.”
“With job applications on the rise, candidates are finally starting to react to the education industry’s jobs boom as Brexit looks set to drag out for a while longer. A huge positive for employers, this means that institutions recruiting right now will have a larger pool of talent to choose from, so take advantage of this job market boom!”
