Fareham College relaunches training services for businesses with Business Plus
Fareham College, the TES UK College of the Year, has unveiled a fresh approach to its training services for businesses with the launch of Business Plus – a brand new service that takes a holistic approach to professional training provision.
The Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ judged College has established a strong reputation of being a centre of excellence for teaching and learning, particularly in key sectors such as engineering, civil engineering and the creative industries.
It has also formed partnerships with some of the UK’s leading employers, including BAE Systems, Carnival UK, South Western Railway and The Royal Navy.
Because of the scale and diversity of the businesses the College works with, and the new training contracts it has won, it has been assessing the way it engages with employers and delivers apprenticeships.
Business Plus will offer flexible training that is aligned to the needs of managers, as well as learners; supporting them to become effective mentors and develop new opportunities for their staff to develop and grow within the business.
Business Plus has also partnered with the Global Growth Institute to offer all Level 3 apprenticeships free access to World Class Manager – a series of 12 online training modules aimed at helping learners to develop key skills, such as; goal setting, time management and effective leadership.
Business Plus is spearheaded by Lesley Roberts, who recently joined Fareham College as Managing Director, Business and Partnerships following 13 years serving in the Royal Navy and positions at Qinetiq, Serco and McDonalds. Lesley was also Vice Principal at Vision West Nottinghamshire College.
Speaking at the launch of Business Plus, Lesley said:
“Having worked in industry for many years, I know how important it is to ensure that any training being delivered into an organisation is both agile in its delivery and is focused on improving the competency of all staff involved in the training process.
“Through Business Plus and its placement within Fareham College, we are able to offer specialist courses that are tailored not only to the unique requirements of a business but also individuals, at a range of levels.”
Wayne Clarke, Founding Partner of The Global Growth Institute, added:
“Fareham College has an exceptional reputation for delivering first-class training across many areas of industry and I’m delighted it has chosen to partner with us for this exciting new service. I look forward to working with Lesley and the Business Plus team to deliver the very best outcomes for the businesses they work with and support.”
