Kirklees College Takeover at Huddersfield Town’s Premier League game
There’s going to be a Kirklees College Takeover at Huddersfield Town’s Premier League game against A.F.C Bournemouth at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday 9 March 2019.
Staff and students will be showcasing some of the courses on offer in various parts of the John Smith’s Stadium, both before the match and at half time.
Some of the students will be doing work experience including stewarding, working in the Huddersfield Town Megastore and in catering areas, while others will be talking about their experience of life at college and their course.
Animal Care will be taking along some special friends to meet the crowds, and Hair and Beauty will be adding some extra sparkle to the fans with their glitter tattoos.
There will also be the chance for fans to sit and have their photo taken in the college’s rickshaw in the Legends Café Bar, while Art and Design will be showcasing some of their fantastic artwork throughout the stadium.
We will be showcasing our fantastic virtual welder, giving you the chance to practice your welding skills and pit yourself against Rambo. Do you think you can beat his score?
In addition to the activities taking place at the stadium, Huddersfield Town’s PPG Canalside venue will also be welcoming fans and families to engage in a host of activities before the match. Head down to the venue for your chance to ‘beat the goalie’, hold a baby chick, or get competitive with a game of giant Jenga or Connect 4.
The events will highlight upcoming open days at the college and also promote the end of National Apprenticeship Week.
Open days are on Tuesday 26 March, 5.30pm-7.30pm at all Huddersfield Centres, and Saturday 30 March, 10.30am-12.30pm at Dewsbury Centres. They offer a chance to tour the facilities, speak to curriculum staff and find out about the wide range of courses on offer at Kirklees College, including full time and part time courses and apprenticeships.
