Cranfield to offer full set of Commonwealth Shared Scholarships in 2019/20 scheme

Cranfield University has been confirmed as only one of two universities in the UK to award 10 Commonwealth Shared Scholarship awards for 10 courses.

The Scheme is designed to support students from the least developed and lower middle income Commonwealth countries who would not otherwise be able to study in the UK. More than 50 universities across the UK offer the Scholarships, but only two have been chosen to offer the maximum amount of awards.

Professor Simon Pollard, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) at Cranfield University said: “Cranfield is a global university, and we are very proud to be able to offer the maximum 10 scholarships across 10 of our courses.”

Funding, provided by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), enables talented and motivated individuals to gain the knowledge and skills required for sustainable development by offering sponsored places on selected full-time Master’s courses at UK universities.

The grant covers essential costs, such as tuition and examination fees, student airfares and a living allowance.

Eligible courses at Cranfield are:

• Advanced Mechanical Engineering MSc
• Energy Systems and Thermal Processes MSc
• Environmental Engineering MSc
• Environmental Management for Business MSc
• Environmental Water Management MSc
• Future Food Sustainability MSc
• Geographical Information Management MSc
• Water and Sanitation for Development MSc
• Water and Wastewater Engineering MSc

Applications are open for the 2019/20 academic year. Applicants must be permanent residents of a developing Commonwealth country who already hold a first degree but are unable to fund study in the UK without a scholarship. Applications must be submitted by 7 March 2019.
