Ex-Students Return To College To Hire Apprentice

Two ex-Havering College students recently returned here to interview current students for an apprenticeship role at the company they founded together.

Nathan Howson and Luke Egleton both studied electrical installation here at Havering, before completing an apprenticeship with us. They both shared a vision to establish an electrical firm that ‘provides a proficient and professional service that surpasses any other’, and as such, Tesla Electrical Services was born.

Together they have grown Tesla to what it is today; a reputable and respectable company that boasts a broad clientele including Amazon and London Underground , offering them a professional range of electrical services.

They are looking to expand their team by hiring an apprentice and so reached out to us. We were provided with a specification and job-seeking students that fit the bill were selected for an interview in view of proceeding in the hiring process. Even if unsuccessful, the students will at least now be prepared for future interviews and know what to expect.

Daniel Barr, Programme Manager for Electrical, said:

This story encapsulates what we are striving for within the electrical department. The learning journey and our learners’ destination all interconnect via the College. Whether one of our full time learners, an apprentice or a former learner, the electrical lecturers and assessors are here to facilitate each learner’s journey to a fully qualified and competent destination, which Nathan and Luke demonstrate perfectly.

It is always great to hear of past students achieving great things and we not doubt that Nathan and Luke will continue to build Tesla into a bigger, better company.
