Doddie Weir Charity Dinner at Borders College
Doddie and SHARC will be in good company at charity dinner
The date is set, the menu is getting prepared and now is the time to buy your tickets for Doddie’s Charity Dinner 2019.
The My Name’5 Doddie foundation is set to benefit from the proceeds of a charity dinner and charity auction being hosted at Borders College on 26th February 2019. The event will be catered for by level 2 and 3 Catering & Hospitality students at Scottish Borders Campus.
Hosting the event will be Hawick High School depute headteacher and rugby aficionado Bruce Aitchison, who is responsible for the Happiness is Egg Shaped website.
The evening of quality food and great banter is sure to be a huge success, with a charity auction taking place during the tartan-themed evening, where everyone attending is encouraged to wear or bring something tartan!
Amongst those attending the evening will be Borders College Honorary Fellow 2018 Doddie Weir, who was recently awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours list.
Joanne George, College Curriculum Learning Manager, said:
“Our Hospitality students and staff are honoured and delighted to be catering for such a prestigious event in support of the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, using only the best local produce.”
SHARC Energy Systems, who are famous for supplying hot water by extracting thermal energy from wastewater to provide cost-effective and eco-friendly water heating at Scottish Borders Campus, have been announced as the main event sponsor.
Tickets, which are on sale now priced £50.00 from Borders College, includes a five-course dinner and wine and are available by calling 01896 662532. The evening ‘kicks off’ at 7pm with a welcome reception followed by dinner, banter and a charity auction.
