The IFA wants feedback on new outline content for T Levels

The Institute for Apprenticeships has launched a consultation on five new T-levels to be taught from 2021 covering draft outline content for Technical Qualifications in Building Services Engineering, Digital Business Services, Health, Health Science and Science.

These will form part of the second wave of T Levels, which will be introduced from September 2021.

The Institute continued its engagement at a Business Breakfast in the Park Plaza Hotel, by Westminster Bridge in London, this morning.

Sir Gerry Berragan, chief executive of the Institute, said:

It is so important that we have a world class technical education teaching offer.

“We know that as a nation we are being held back by a shortage of skills and T Levels will have a key part to play in changing that.

“Your involvement as leaders in helping to develop the content is invaluable and I hope you will be able to stay engaged for a long time to come.

T Levels are new high quality two-year, technical study programmes that will be available across 11 industry routes. Alongside apprenticeships and A levels, T Levels will be one of the three major options available to people aged 16 – 19 years old.

By involving employers throughout the process, the Institute aims to ensure that T Level content is relevant, engaging and applicable to the world of work.

This also ensures that individuals taking T Levels can develop the technical knowledge and skills required by employers in that industry.
