College Supports Health and Wellbeing Event
Staff and students from NPTC Group of Colleges have been offering beauty treatments to members of the public as part of a Neath Port Talbot Council for Voluntary Services wellbeing event held at the Castle Hotel in Neath.
Level 3 beauty therapists from the School of Hairdressing and Applied Therapies at Afan College performed a range of beauty treatments at the event, which was arranged to enable patients of the eight doctors’ practices in the Neath area to find out more about local services available to help improve health and wellbeing. The surgeries involved are Skewen, Tabernacle, Alfred Street, Castle, Victoria Gardens, Dyfed Road, Dr Wilkes & Partners, and Waterside.
Speaking after the event, Sue Phillips, Hairdressing and Applied Therapies lecturer, said:
“It’s important to highlight the health and wellbeing services available in the local community. Something as simple as a quick beauty treatment can change how people feel about themselves and have a positive impact. It’s good that the College can offer this service to the community, and for the students to put the skills they have learned so far this year to practical use.”
