Co-founder and Director of Outsource, Nichola Hay

Outsource Training and Development to hold free breakfast seminar on apprenticeships and the new levy next week in Manchester.

Outsource Training and Development, the newly announced sponsor of The BIFA Freight Service Apprentice of the Year award, is calling on logistics firms to make the most out of the apprenticeship levy.

Outsource has over 20 years’ experience in supporting businesses with their apprenticeship programmes, and on 28th September will be sharing this knowledge at their free breakfast seminar in Cheshire.

Co-founder and Director of Outsource, Nichola Hay, will be leading the talks. She has worked in the training industry for over 20 years with key account customers such as British Airways, DHL Global Forwarding UK, Panalpina, DGF UK and DB Schenker.

Nichola said: “Apprentices are vital to any business looking to fill skills gaps and ensuring the development of their talent pipeline.

“Now the apprenticeship levy and funding reforms have been introduced for large and small to medium businesses, I want to help logistics, transport, freight and aviation firms understand how to make the most out of the changes.

“The breakfast event will take a focus on how to use the levy, including how it can support and provide business solutions to workforce planning and people development strategy.”

Carl Hobbis, The British International Freight Association’s (BIFA) Training Development Manager, will be speaking about the new International Freight Forwarding apprenticeship standard.

Nichola continued: “We have a great relationship with the team at BIFA and are pleased to have Carl as our guest speaker at the seminar.

“We are also extremely proud to have sponsored the 2018-2019 BIFA Apprentice of The Year award, as the awards which are now in their 30th year are some of the industry’s most coveted commendations.”

Nominations are now open for the competition, which encourages and rewards high standards and professionalism, as well as recognising special achievements in different sectors of the industry.

Winners will be announced at the annual luncheon in January 2019.
