EUAN BLAIR ENCOURAGES ASIAN APPRENTICES TO ENTER AWARDS
With just days to go before the closing date, high profile names across the apprenticeship sector are urging British Asian apprentices to enter this year’s Asian Apprenticeship Awards.
Twelve individuals have been named as ambassadors for the Awards which are being held for the third year running. The awards celebrate the talent and diversity of British Asian Apprentices, their employers and learning providers.
Euan Blair is Co-Founder of WhiteHat and an ambassador for the Asian Apprenticeship Awards. He commented: “Apprenticeships are essential to driving greater opportunity and can accelerate incredible careers for a truly diverse group of people. Previous winners of the Asian Apprenticeship Awards are proof that this is the case and I’m proud to be an ambassador for the Awards. Winning an award like this provides a great platform for apprentices and I would urge people to enter.”
Previous winners from the last two years are proof of the opportunity that the awards present. Naila Bibi of Aspire Housing, winner in 2017, and Aneesah Aziz of HMRC, finalist in 2017, have both experienced career success since their wins, speaking at high profile events about their wins, being interviewed on national radio and becoming role models in their own organisations. Both are part of the 2018 ambassador team.
Isa Mutlib is the Project Director for the Awards. He said: “We are very grateful to our ambassadors every year for the additional profile and support they lend the awards. Last year’s event attracted over 200 entries, culminating in a spectacular awards event in Birmingham, where apprentices were recognised for their contribution and talent. With just three weeks to go we look forward to celebrating the impact that British Asian apprentices make to their employers and the economy.”
