THE SKILLS NETWORK APPOINTS PETER MCCANN AS NEW CHAIRMAN
Peter McCann, former Principal and Chief Executive of Kirklees College and Interim Principal at North Shropshire College, has been appointed as Chairman of leading distance learning provider The Skills Network.
In his new appointment, Peter will use his wealth of Further Education experience and leadership skills to further strengthen The Skills Network’s partnerships with colleges and further education partners, as the company continues to deliver qualifications and accredited educational resources to over 300 education partners.
Speaking on his new appointment, Peter said:

I look forward to continuing our partnership, working and delivering high levels of student, employer and partner satisfaction and outcomes.”
Peter holds a depth of knowledge in the Further Education sector, with an extensive career that includes former positions as Deputy Principal at Leeds City College and Chair of West Yorkshire Consortium of Colleges. Peter is also a founding member of The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) and his other former positions include Outreach Careers Officer, Hotel Manager and British Aid Worker.
Peter’s appointment coincides with The Skills Network’s recent rating as a Grade 2 ‘Good’ provider of education and skills by Ofsted
Based in Selby, North Yorkshire, The Skills Network currently delivers qualifications to over 25,000 learners a year and provides distance learning to 52 college partners nationwide.
