Photography students showcase work at end of year exhibition
HND photography students from South Eastern Regional College (SERC) Bangor Campus showcased their final year projects at an exhibition held at The Duncairn Centre for Culture and Arts in North Belfast.
The exhibition entitled ‘LUX’ represented the students individual approaches. The event was organised by the students under the direction of their tutors. As part of the event the students were responsible for arranging meetings, selecting suitable dates, designing promotional material and displaying their work. The event was also promoted on Photo Ireland Festivals website and programme.
Each student worked on developing their project over a 3-month period producing a diverse range of individual themes such as bog lands, light, private space, still life and beauty industry advertising.
The Exhibition was opened by former SERC HND Photography student Richard Gosnold who graduated in 2014 before completing his master’s Degree at the Ulster University.
Richard praised both the high quality and the diversity of work and skills demonstrated.
SERC Lecturer in Photography Mark Dale said:
“The exhibition brings together work from our final year HND Photography students final major project. They worked extremely hard throughout the year producing high quality pieces of work and this is an excellent opportunity for them to showcase it on a public stage.”
The students are now hoping to further their education and progress onto university or self-employment.
Applications are now open for courses starting in September.
