Tourism Students at Neath College put Lessons into Practice
Level 2 Travel and Tourism students from Neath College (part of NPTC Group of Colleges) have put tourism into action and have organised a two-night residential study visit to Liverpool and Blackpool.
As part of their tourism studies, students are required to investigate UK seaside resorts and cities of culture. Two of the most famous UK destinations have been selected for the 2018 visit. The students will be working as reps to host the visit for other travel and tourism students.
Attractions and excursions include a visit to the historic area of Albert Docks, Shiverpool Ghost Walk, Blackpool Tower, Blackpool Tower Dungeon and Madame Tussauds. Students will also be treated to a meal at a themed restaurant and have time to look around one of Liverpool’s outstanding shopping centres.
Lecturers Beverly Watkins and Tina Williams said the students have worked exceptionally hard to put the visit together.
“They have been professional and demonstrated some outstanding team-working skills. We are very proud of their efforts and we will have lots of photographs and stories to share when they return later next week.”
